Part 3

Dear Cooperators,

For those of you who are note aware of the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA), it is a complete listing of all Federal funding opportunities in every Federal agency. I have copy/pasted the intro screen and approved a direct www address below of the CFDA site so you may visit it for funding opportunities no matter what your subject matter may be. There is a QUERY button on the bottom of CFDA screen that will take you to the search engine to locate funding opportunities. If you have not visited this site before, you may want to search for federal programs that can assist with funding your project. If you were to see the hard copy of the CFDA it consists of 3 bulging 3-ring binders - each listing may only be one-side of one piece of paper so the funding opportunities are numerous to say the least.

"The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) is a government-wide compendium of Federal programs, projects, services, and activities which provide assistance or benefits to the American public. It contains financial and nonfinancial assistance programs administered by departments and establishments of the Federal government. In addition to the hardtop Catalog data, program information is available on machine-readable magnetic tape, high-density floppy diskettes, and CD-ROM. All three contain the textual material published in the program description section of the Catalog and characteristics data of coded program information extracted from the textual material. The characteristics data format allows the user to index and retrieve program information by the program function, types of assistance, applicants, beneficiaries, circular requirements, obligations, matching requirements, and authorizing legislation. From the text, users may retrieve the complete text or specific sections of the program text. The accompanying documentation describes in detail the format for retrieving program information. The tape, diskettes, or CD-ROM may be purchased from GSA. Contact: Federal Domestic Assistance Catalog Staff (MVS), General Services Administration, 300 7th Street, S.W., Suite 101, Washington, DC 20407. Telephone: (202) 708-5126."
